Abstract

This essay seeks to stimulate awareness of spirituality, the dynamics of what gives life in the relationship between the human being and the geosphere, inspiring ecological conversion. This ecological “land” mysticism is understood according to the Ignatian pedagogical method, i.e., observing scientifically the experienced current global social and environmental crisis, reflecting on the geoethical values that exist in relation to the situation, interpreting its spiritual meaning from the concept of noosphere, and finally applying the results of our apprehension of the situation with concrete attitudes and actions. In other words, following P. Ricoeur’s theory of interpretation (Tan, 2009): explaining from the reason, interpreting from the spirit in order to get a new understanding of reality and, envisioning an action or praxis that is resistance in hope, a spiritual action that generates spaces of resistance and a hope tha t unfolds as spa tial justice.
