La religió i l'afirmació de l'individu com a subjecte
Religion and the affirmation of the individual as a subject
Keywords:
Relationship with God, Intersubjective relationship, Constitution of the individual, Objectified subject, Social function of religionAbstract
These reflections start from the fact that today’s society is overcrowded, in which the individual is annulled, configured by the prevailing social guidelines, being clearly reified, that is, transformed into an object. This forces to rethink the social function of religion. The function, which it exercised in favour of social cohesion, has been assumed by communicative action; nevertheless, the
individual, called to participate in the constitution of consensuses, is seen without referents, isolated and absorbed by impersonal forces, so that it is necessary to promote being the subject of all. Religion offers all a potential capable of affirming the individual. In this way, religion moves from the realm of the legitimation of society to the realm of subjects, of individuals. Religion keeps alive the interest in the formation of the unique identity of individuals, who are the factors of the shaping consensus of society.
