Abstract

Before being the subject of climate summits or declarations of rights, nature was one of the privileged areas of reflection and meditation on the sacred dimension of existence. In this paper, we will explore, with the help of the phenomenological method, two areas that are closely related. First, the modern evolution towards the proposal of ecological postulates that advocates the protection of nature as a home of biodiversity. Second, we appealing to the Religious Sciences view; we will show
the confluence of the symbolism that sees the mountains as the centre of the world, and a stronger conviction of which understanding the mountains as sacred spaces. The discussion about the sacrality of nature is still alive.
